Couple Issues

How do I display my location, registration date and an accurate post count? My post count shows "0" in my ad, which would be inaccurate if it were reading my classified ads and would be extremely inaccurate if it is suppose to read my sites post count.

Is there suppose to be a message in my email box when I reply to an ad? I received the email stating that someone replied to my ad but the actual email was empty. I would like to populate this.

I am running the latest build.

You can send us site data and information on specific email that is empty for us to try and replicate on our end.

I would also need to know your specific email setup so I can test that as there are several options available.

Here is an example I went to my test setup which is a clean Classifieds 5.1 install and commented on an ad.

Main Index - PhotoPost Classifieds

This is the email I received

testing commenting.

Ok, so if I enable the HTML emails I get the body of the message. If I don't enable the HTML emails, I don't. These are all my settings under "Email Settings":

PHP
No
Yes
Email
The last 4 are the defaults.

Also, when leaving a comment they all get posted as "unregistered" though the email, profiles, etc. links all lead to the proper locations for the person who posted the comment. The user however is listed as "unregistered".

I am still interested in a response to my first half of my initial post as well. none of the fields are showing and use to before I upgraded. I use to see my location, posts, and registration date but now posts say "0" and the other 2 don't show at all.

First off posts refers to forum posts if I am following things here with your integration it has nothing to do with posts in classifieds. A members ad count is shown where it is suppose to in the application like members list on classifieds.

If your posting something and its posted as unregistered you do not have cookies or something set correct because everything does work as required.

I really can not comment about your issue without seeing it.

I did show email does work and I do not use html email.

You can send me pertinent data like ftp to check out files and an admin login to the contact us link in our site header.

If cookies weren't set correct Chuck then the profile and PM links wouldn't be right and I wouldn't be able to use the classifieds with my usergroup permissions. Those link to the proper account for my test account posting. It simply didn't add the users name and instead adds "unregistered". I also wouldn't be able to traverse back and forth between vbulletin and the classifieds if the cookies weren't right.

I am going to backup my classifieds and install a completely new one so that I can give you access and let you dig around to see if you can find whats wrong. All of these things worked properly before the upgrade and I haven't done anything to my settings in the admin panel to make them not work. My cookie settings are the same, etc. I will report back to see if perhaps something is amuck with a file or something.

I found the issue that was causing me the problems. In a vanilla installation you seek out field2 as the field for the location of a user (vb default). I haven't had field 2 on my site for 7 years or so. I modified the location field in the vb3.php file to show as field15 (my location field) and now the fields are showing as well as the username in comments and the associated avatar (which I didn't even realize was missing).

Since enabling the html email fixed me seeing response emails that isn't an issue either.

Okay well yes if you modify fields that may exist in a default install that would cause errors. It appears to me though you should have either been getting emails or displays that you where missing that field if you turned on the debug option in global options.

My vb3.php file was already modified with line 198 - 203 commented out because it displayed an onsceen issue. When I just did the vanilla install again and saw the error i actually tracked it back to that field number and updated it with my old field number and that is what worked.

I still don't know why emails marked as no html don't show but html ones do. I will just leave it on the html ones though since that does what I need.

Okay yeah if you had posted your onscreen error I would have been able to answer you pretty easy on what the issue was.
