I have some categories set to No for the Contains Ads option. But as a user when I go to upload a new ad, I am able to select that category. What does that option do? I thought it was there to have that category work more like a parent category so people couldn't add ads directly to it.
For example I have Firearms set to Contains Ads no but have subcategories under it where I want the ads to go. But I am still able to upload ads to the Firearms category.
What are the actual permissions you have set for that specific category in edit categories?
The switch your referring to merely tells the program that the category is a top level category.
have you set for users to be able to upload to it? If you remove upload permissions then it should not appear as a selectable category in the upload box.
I removed all usergroups from the Can Upload and as an admin I still select that category to upload to.
I also just checked how it looks by logging in as a Registered User and there is no Place a Ad link anywhere. I checked and all my categories now have the permissions to upload ads (after testing one by disabling all to see if I could still upload) by registered users which I am logged in as.
Right if your not allowing registered users to upload then no place an ad link would appear then.
The if clause I posted which forms the cat drop down to upload ads says if user has permission to upload include the category or if your an admin do the same.
If I log in as a regular user who does not have permission to upload to a category when I hit place an ad only categories I have permission to upload to are listed which is the correct operation.
