Contains Ads Option I have some categories set to No for the Contains Ads option. But as a user when I go to upload a new ad, I am able to select that category. What does that option do? I thought it was there to have that category work more like a parent category so people couldn't add ads directly to it. For example I have Firearms set to Contains Ads no but have subcategories under it where I want the ads to go. But I am still able to upload ads to the Firearms category. |
What are the actual permissions you have set for that specific category in edit categories? The switch your referring to merely tells the program that the category is a top level category. have you set for users to be able to upload to it? If you remove upload permissions then it should not appear as a selectable category in the upload box. |
I removed all usergroups from the Can Upload and as an admin I still select that category to upload to. I also just checked how it looks by logging in as a Registered User and there is no Place a Ad link anywhere. I checked and all my categories now have the permissions to upload ads (after testing one by disabling all to see if I could still upload) by registered users which I am logged in as. |
That would be strange indeed since the catmoveopt box has this Code: Content visible to verified customers only. |
I did that, I logged in as a Registered User and there is no option to place an ad. |
Right if your not allowing registered users to upload then no place an ad link would appear then. The if clause I posted which forms the cat drop down to upload ads says if user has permission to upload include the category or if your an admin do the same. If I log in as a regular user who does not have permission to upload to a category when I hit place an ad only categories I have permission to upload to are listed which is the correct operation. |
Got it, it was the overall permissions messing me up. Thanks! |
Yeah no problem glad to help. |
