Couple of issues and questions

I've got three questions about Classifieds. My Classifieds is integrated with VB. We do not use the Auction feature. I'm using the latest non-beta version of Classifieds - version 4.21. You can visit our Classifieds at http://www.tdpri.com/phpclassifieds/

1. FeedBack: My users are complaining that they can only leave feedback for a seller (not a buyer), and only if that seller has an active ad. Because the only way to get to the users Classified Profile is from his Username in an ad - or from the memberlist in Classifieds (but the Classifieds Memberlist is only those members with active ads).

Because of integration with VB, I can see that if I click on a username within Classifieds I can manually substitute any member's member ID number in that link and get access to a Classifieds Profile for that member even if they don't have an ad in our Classifieds. So, it's possible that with the proper access to this kind of link that any member could leave feedback for any other member regardless of whether or not they have an active Classified ad. It's just that my members don't really have any practical way to do this.

Am I missing something or is there some way for any member to access any other member's Classified Profile when the users have no active ads in Classifieds?

2. Memberlist: When you click on the Memberlist in Classified you are taken to the first page in the memberlist. But there are alpha links to each letter in the memberlist. If you click on say... "T" you are taken to the first page in the memberlist for all members currently running ads with a "T" username. But if that list is longer than 12 usernames you'll see a link to page 2 and 3, etc.

The problem is, if you click on the page 2 link in the "T" username display you'll be taken to page 2 of the entire memberlist. You can't get to page 2 or 3, etc, from one of the alpha generated pages and stay in that alpha page.

3. Per Page Dropdown: If you are on the "T" alpha page and it's showing only 12 usernames starting with T but there are more "T" usernames if you try to change the quantity to display from 12 to 24 in the "per page" dropdown box it instantly reloads the page and takes you back to the beginning of the entire memberlist. There is absolutely no possible way to change the per page number and use any letter in the "alpha" sort links. Changing that number always goes back to the first page of the entire memberlist.

In fact, there is no way to use that option on ANY memberlist page except the first page. If you change the "per page" to 24 you will get 24 on page one of the memberlist. But when you click over to page two you go back to 12 "per page" and if you change that per page number to 24 you will go back to the first page of the entire memberlist.

So, the "per page" function does not work -- except on the first page of the memberlist.

I'd appreciate some guidance on all three of these questions.

1. Seller Feedback is a feature in the program. Buyer Feedback there is not. The leave feedback link is shown on a user who has posted an ad. That is a nice suggestion for a future release. There is a feedback link in users profiles.

2. HMM interesting I will test that out and let you now if I see anything. I have an active beta 5.0 up so it should not take long to see if there is an issue.

3. This is probally related to the cookie perpage which may be tied into the above issue. I will see.

In their Classifieds Profiles. Which only are reachable during the time they have an Active ad in the Classifieds. When they do not have an active ad there is no way to reach their Classifieds Profiles.

So, If a guy has an ad to sell a widget in the Classifieds a user can reach his Classifieds Profile. But, after the items is sold and the ad is marked sold and deleted there is no way for the buyer to reach the sellers Classifieds Profile to leave feedback.

As far as your perpage name click thing you can send site info admin login and ftp and I will take a look. probally alot quicker if I look at an active site versus a clean fresh setup that I have.

As I mentioned, we don't use the auction system at all. These are pure Classified for sale ads. There is no "end of auction notice" without an auction.

So, how can my users use the feedback system for sellers when there is no auction taking place?

Luckily, you have no need of admin access to see these memberlist problems. Just visit the site and you can see for yourself: Users - Guitars and Gear For Sale
