Restrict ads?

I just got the Classifieds and working my way through all the settings and options.

I was wondering if the following could be achieved without any additional coding:
Our club made the decision members have the option to sell only to "full members" or to "anybody".
Now If I would create an extra yes/no field "for members only" in the place add page and the poster would select YES how do I achieve only full members can buy this item?

Hope my explanation makes sense and there is an easy way to do this.

Thanks for any help
Michael

You definately would be talking custom modifications you would have to make for sure.

I would suspect you would want to surpress the buy link on the showproduct page by doing some if clause that that only shows the buy link is that extra setting is no or if the setting is yes and the users usergroup is a specific group.

It would be up to you to code whatever your looking to do.

WOW. Thanks for your super quick reply. Really appreciate it.

I had another "classifieds" plugin installed before yours but it not really did what we needed.
However I found a way with some if conditions in the template when the poster choose the option to sell only to members to show the "buy" button when somebody belongs to the "members" usergroup and if he was not it would show a button "only for members" and not clickable.

You know your templates better then everybody else and maybe you can PM me how much it would cost to implement this little piece of coding?

Thanks
Michael

You can email any specific mods you want done but I also would suggest you check out the new classifieds with the plugin system which allows you easily to include your own code and conditionals without modifying files.

Hey Chuck,
I downloaded now the updated version and integrated it with my VB4.
Really like the new options and seems to fit my needs.

I still have a couple questions/Issues:

When I click on "my profile" in the photopost Classifieds it gives me an error:
We're sorry, but the system experienced an unrecoverable error. Please try again later.
The link it was pointed to: mysitename.com/V4/member.php?u=1

Also I don't want to use all the PayPal options when users create their ad. I guess I just would need to delete all this in the particular template?

And finally I don't want to use the email feature to contact the seller but the vBulletin PM system. How do I change the template to go to the PM editor instead of the email editor?

Found another issue. Uploaded pics for my ads but after a while when I go back into the index page all the images are gone. When I click to go into the ad itself the image is there.

Thanks for your help

Your forum profile you would need to install the plugins correctly per the documentation I would think here as I have all 3 products we release vb4 plugins installed and see no issues here is a real link you can see to see what I mean. Provided the plugins are installed correctly and all the proper information is filled out in edit integration there should be no errors.

Check your vb technical email that they send you I would assume if your electing to be emailed errors about your forum then you should be getting an email with the exact error.

What do you mean you do not want paypal? You mean you do not want users to pay for ads then turn off payment. If you do not want users to buy ads then you could do a plugin on showphoto to set an option to no I suppose but really can not respond without knowing more about what you mean here.

There is no option to to use the PM system of vbulletin. If your trying to use the vb pm system then you could need to edit the $postreview variable in showproduct.php to use whatever format the vb pm link uses. That is not covered under product support.
