Imagemagick Problem

I've been using GD2 for a long time but am frustrated with the users not getting any kind of error message when their pictures are too large.

I'm trying to swap to Imagemagick. It is installed on my server. I changed to imagemagick and put the correct path /usr/bin/mogrify in the following line. When I tested it though, I got an error message about a folder not found.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Never mind. I found that I had the path wrong in the config file. Apparently the path has to be entered in the config area AND the global options?

So, under Global options I have "Imagemagic" selected in the drop down menu. On the line immediately following that, I have:

/usr/bin/mogrify

Then under "Edit Config" after Path for MOGRIFY executable: I also have:

/usr/bin/mogrify

Those are the only things that I did after swapping from GD2 to Imagemagick. It seems to be working fine. Am I missing anything or is that all I needed to do?

the path to mogrify is set in the config file so not sure what you mean by you entered on the line immediately following it the path to mogrify. That option is directory for backups if I follow.

OK, is the directory for backups required? If so, what is typically used?

I completely removed the entry int he directory to backup field and it still works fine. So does it even need anything there? If so, again, what is typically used for the backup directory?

No it is not required. A backup directory for the mysql is an option and that path depends on your server and other settings.
