auction renewal

Thought I saw a thread that said auctions are renewed automatically? Is that right? If the category has auctions set up as a paid feature, will the payment be triggered again, or is the renewal free?

If renewal is manual, does it need to first expire with no bids? That is, it can't be extended before expiration. Can anything about the auction be edited, particularly price or term? Will a renewal required payment again if the original is set up requiring payment?

thanks

If there are no bids it is renewed otherwise the highest bid gets the item.

You can not renew before expiration as that would be cheating.

Make sure you have setup your cron task to expire ads in admin options. I would use a timeframe of 86399 which is once a day to check things.

If the auction does not meet the reserve price, will it automatically renew?

When an auction automatically renews does it create another charge to the lister's paypal? Will the charge process without another authorization from the lister?

The cron task in Admin Options is set to a default 1440. Is that ok? Sounds like it runs frequently.

thx

I would suggest the timeframe I said.

If the auction does not meet the reserve it is renewed and no new charge as your still talking the initial auction the user posts. Likewise if it renews because of no bids same thing no new charge.
