What URL to get to Admin?

Is there an administrator's manual?

I used the URL ending in adm-index.php but all it did was accept my login/password and then return me to index.php.

What am I doing wrong? How do I become an administrator?

You should see the admin link on the menubar of the program if your logged in. From there once in admin everything is broken down into sections to know what the settings are. Let me know if you can not find it.
