Welcome email contains no activation link After a person registers and where activation of account is required, an email is sent to him with an activation link. I just installed PhotoPost Classifieds and I ran a couple of tests. The welcome email is sent out but the email does not contain any activation link. Please let me know how to correct this problem. TIA. |
You say an email is sent and contains an activation link in one sentence and the next that it doesn't so little confusing there. How about an actual link to your install integration type etc. Only our standalone uses our own registration and if you elect to do email confirmation that email definately contains an activation link. |
hello Chuck, sorry if I sounded confusing. In the first sentence of my earlier email, I was actually referring to my PhotoPost sites which I installed on several of my websites in 2008. In those standalone PhotoPost sites, the welcome email always contained an activation link and I never had any complaint from any of my users. A few days ago, I installed PhotoPost Classifieds as a standalone and while doing some test registration, I discovered that the email sent by the software after a person registers says as follows:- "Thanks for registering at PenangTalk Classifieds. In order to activate your account, which will enable you to upload products and post ratings (if the site allows ratings), you must click on the link below or copy and paste it into your browser:" That is all that is contained in the email. No link is stated. Is there any way I can forward a copy of that email to you? Best wishes, kayes |
This is the full content of the email string Code: Content visible to verified customers only. |
I did another few test registrations. If I have html emails turned off, no email is sent by the software at all. If I turn html emails on, an email is sent but still without the activation link. |
Maybe I should give you the url of the website in question which is:- Main Index - PenangTalk Classifieds |
It will take me a bit but will install a clean copy and do my own testing. I see no issues with the coding. I see no reason why there would be no email sent or one without links. |
