Forward not working after paypal payment processed

I've been searching this board and google for 3 days now trying to fix this but the closest thread to my exact problem does not seem to have been resolved.

I have been building my new site and decided to try PP Classifieds and if all goes well I plan to buy PP Classifieds for my other 2 sites.

My Server/env. details are:

URL - www rclargescale com / classifieds (Can't post my exact URL because of this stupid rule "You are only allowed to post URLs to other sites after you have made 15 posts or more.")

PP Classifieds version 4.2

CentOS release 5.5 (Final)
Apache/2.2.3
MySQL 5.0.77
PHP Version 5.1.6
GD 2.0.28

safe_mode Off Off
Sockets Support enabled

I created a new paypal business account and set the Paypal IPN to mydomainname/classifieds/payment_verification.php

I have installed PP Classifieds 3 times now, once on a test server and twice on my production server, I have gone through all the recommended settings and changes in this thread with no luck.

I setup some dummy ads using a test account and when going through the process of placing the ad it sends me to paypal to pay for my premium options then after I payed for the item it redirects me to mydomainname/classifieds/payment_verification.php which displays a blank white page. The ad is approved, and shows as paid in the classifieds backend and you can see the ad in the classifieds.

I tried Chuck's suggestion in post 12 and after submitting a new ad paypal redirects me back to my classifieds page with a message saying "Response but forward not working" then redirects me to index.php of my classifieds.

what version are you using? url?

Reason I ask is any suggestions I might suggest as a fix should be in the latest download.

Sorry, forgot to add what version I am running. It is 4.2, the last install (third) was done this morning and I downloaded the latest version again just to make sure I had a good package.

The URL is in my first post, I can't post the actual URL because of your rules.

I just ran another test where I purchased an ad using the buy it now feature, it did the same thing as paying for a premium ad option where after I payed for the item in Paypal it redirected back to my site with the message "Response but forward not working" then redirects me to index.php of my classifieds.

I am not sure what you mean by response but forward not working you would need to clarify.

Your return url should be the classifieds index so that works fine.

Which included the link to your post in the thread where you were helping someone else with a similar issue and suggested the following as a test:

Your saying the actions are being performed which means you should be forwarded so try adding these lines in payment_verification and tell me what happens. Tell me what the forward message is so pay attention there.

Since you suggested the other member to change that code and test I figured I would save both of us some time and do the same thing and that you would know what the message "Response but forward not working" means.

So now your saying my return URL should be the classifieds index? Can you clarify because now your not making sense.

You have said numerous times that "if you change the return URL to /index.php that the system would stop marking the ads as sold, and won't send the emails" which is why the code by default has the return URL set to /payment_verification.php.

I understand that your stock code does not say "response but forward not working", it is code that I added that YOU suggested in another thread for another person's issue that is very similar to mine.

I changed the stock code to what you suggested in another thread to try and help you figure out the original problem I am having with getting redirected after a payment is made in paypal to the /payment_verification.php which is a BLANK WHITE PAGE.

Is there only one Chuck S or is there multiple support people logging in as Chuck S? Cause it is starting to get scary with the questions that your asking considering how clear I have tried to describe the issue which I know "Chuck S" has helped troubleshoot before.

Your going back aways the return setting in the buy and payment templates should read this no other mods

Your change seems to be working, although it's not redirecting to a "Thank you" page like it looks like it should in the payments_verification.php script but this will do.

You guys might want to update your build with this fix so new customers don't have to waste the amount of time I wasted working on getting this fixed.
