Code in email

Chuck

I am getting code in emails notifications when some one posts an ad.
Any directions to stir me in to correct it?

Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.

Well have you set to receive HTML EMAILS?

Any info you give will help. It seems to me like your allowing html emails but maybe in your email setup for your email client not allowing html parsing. Maybe just an idea there as the email looks like its formatted in html.

Chuck

I have this set 'no' in classifieds

Use HTML Email?
If you want to send html email enable this option.

I am using my hosting server for emails and I don't receive html code like that from anything sent from vB or in any other type emails.

well have you looked at the actual database tables and seen what your user is using for a description? Is there html there?

Our email program simply sends a title and description it is not going to add html to something so the html has to exist. There has to be paragraph tags etc

Chuck

I dunno what you are asking me. What database, what user?

I have PP_C integrated with vB 4.1.0 and I don't allow html in vB and I have never setup anything in the classifieds for html. This only happens when I get an email from classifieds letting me know someone has just posted a new ad in the classified section.

I made a simple ad my self and I was sent html code in the email. I dunno what could be causing it, I guess I will just live with it.

well do you allow the TinyMCE editor?

what I am saying is from what I see your stuff has html in it. The email program is not going to add html to your description.

Try turning off tinymce editor make a test post and see what happens.

I found it just before you replied. Apparently the html button in the editor had been toggled. I don't remember doing this, can a member toggle this switch and cause this issue to constantly keep happening?

Chuck S December 5th, 2010 10:15 PM

well we do not write either editor whether its vbulletin or tinymce so I really cant respond about there options. I can say if I where you I would use the basic editors not wysiwyg. You can also elect to receive html emails if your going to allow html content.

I don't use html and I looked at the basic editor and it to has a html button. I'll just stay with the advanced editor and keep an eye on it.
