manual payment option Hi: Most people in my country don't use paypal or any other automated payment system. The most common payment here is using bank transfer. Is there a way for me to setup payment (for ads) without using any payment gateway? So when user have to pay for an ad, they will only be taken to a page with instruction how to pay. Of course their ad will have to be manually approved after they pay. thanks |
The normal manual operation for payment is buyer uses the contact system to contact seller about manual payment options the buyer pays seller however which way and the seller can mark his ad as sold. Thats pretty manual ;) |
Hi Chuck, thanks for replying. Actually what I'm asking is about payment for (placing) the ad. Some usergroup have to pay to place an ad. The way it works now is after they make the ad they will be taken to paypal or other payment gateway to complete the payment. What I need is another option which will not take them to paypal but only display static item (this will be my bank account no) |
there is no such feature for that in the software. I was referring to the actual buying of ads which there is a contact feature for manual payment. You could theoretically set up a manual page but I would be darned if I would display my bank account info to people. Just a thought. |

BTW giving out bank account number is quite a common practice in many part of the world, since it is required in order to let people transfer money to our account. There is nothing anyone can do with that information so it's not like credit card number. |
well my suggestion is you look at the payment template and alter accordingly to suit your needs. |
Hi Chuck: Can I just edit the last page before payment processed and take out "proceed to payment" button? If I can, can u give me direction on which file to edit? This is the page that say: "The total cost of your ad is ............ To complete your transaction and enable the listing of your ad, you need to provide payment. Please click on the link below to process your PayPal payment." thanks |
well if your not going to be accepting payment only manual then the best and easiest thing for you to do is edit the payment template and make the html output what you want to show users the payment stuff. |
I tried editing the payment template (payment.tmpl) and it doesn't seem to work. May be u mean I have to edit the php (payment.php) file? I thought if I can take out the 'proceed to payment' button and edit the contents of that page it wl work too? and I don't need to add any other page |
Seems that I edited the wrong template. It works now, thanks for your help |
as long as you edit the right template yep it works ;) |
