MY classifieds is set to only 15 days duration but it still shows ads from 2008 how can I make it delete old ads other than one by one. It does not delete old ads.
Purge old ads
Thanks

Otis have you setup the cron task to expire ads? Cron Job: sendnotice.php |

How would I know if I've already done it? I mean, under Cpanel>Advanced>Cron Jobs it just offers to enter a new job, it doesn't list current jobs. And that post you just linked to doesn't even mention Cpanel.

what version do you have?
There is documentation I linked you to the FAQ on the cron.
In newer versions there is even a cron which runs in the footer when one visits the classifieds so you dont even have to run a server cron task.

I think I have 403. In the Documentation folder there is only one file with installation instructions, that's UPGRADE.TXT. It has 5 steps, none of which say anything about setting up a cron job.
The link you gave isn't a FAQ, it's a long thread from 2004 with a lot of confusion like something called "spider". WTF is that? And again, no mention of cpanel. I can probably figure out crons in cpanel, but first someone has to actually tell me to do it!
If the task runs in the forum footer that would be okay. But if it's only in the Classifieds footer then it may not be visited enough.

You can run the cron task in classifieds footer if you have 4.03 by setting the cron options in admin panel of classifieds.

Hm. Actually, it looks like mine are still on the default "no" and "30". But the first says " in footer of site " when it really means "in footer of classifieds" (?). And the second has the exact same text with no explanation for the "30".
Maybe you accidentally dropped a Documentation/1stTimeSetup.txt from the releases? If not, it would be a good idea to revise the upgrade.txt instructions to include something about this most important feature.

actually try making sure your using the latest code and rerun the phrases.php file to reimport the phrases.
You can turn that on and set that to say number of minutes you want to run it.

Okay, I uploaded the 4.1 files. I guess I don't need to run upgrade.php(?), but when I run phrases.php I get an error: Quote:
Error performing MySQL command: INSERT INTO cp_languages VALUES (1, 'english', 'en', 'UTF-8', 'ltr');
Error: Duplicate entry '1' for key 1

You do need to run an upgrade as the documentation states for 4.1

Okay, I won't try to run phrases.php again then. I set the Cron Script option to Yes. But since I can't see the text, just what is that "30"?

You can safely run the upgrade 4.01-4.1 and rerun phrases.php if you have messed up phrases.
