| Login issue - cookie settings messed up!
Yesterday I made a lot of changes under Admin and Edit Settings... Today I can't login as admin anymore! My classifieds are currently set to be closed to the public. But I must be recognized as admin - at least on mydomain.com/ppc/adm-index.php, as I'm already logged in at the integrated SMF forum! So I suspected a cookie issue - I then went to my database under cp-settings table I saw messed up cookie values: cookie name: dsd (it was SMFCookieXXX before!), cookie prefix: dsds, it was different before... What happened? How do I log back in???
ps: I changed the cookie name back to original - no result. Not sure about the prefix.

Additionally: I'm happy that I have a database backup archive that I've made a week ago, so I checked wats wrong. I found again "dsds" in the current cp_settings table under the setting "Threads" - so its all messed up beacause of that integrations that I tried a day ago, just to see if they would affect the PPC design... I made changes to the current table with the old values - cookiename: back to SMFCookieXXX, cookie prefix: back to nothing, dprefix: back to smf_, and finally threads: back to nothing. In the end - same error: Quote: |
We're sorry, but the system experienced an unrecoverable error. Please try again later.
| Any idea?

what happened is you messed up your settings. I would suggest since you know how to view the settings in the database you actually put back in the right info where asked.
That will solve the issue
cookie path /
cookie prefix empty
cookie domain .yoursite.com
cookie name your smf cookie name

Have you simply tried rerunning the install script again to make sure you put all the proper info where it is needed. You have changed more things it would seem like maybe your forum table prefix etc

I'm not really familiar with installations... somebody else did the installation for me and he's not here anymore to do it again. Maybe just replacing some php files? Maybe you could check some things if I provide you admin user/pass, please?
Plus I've changed some permissions yesterday for the usergroups. When I see the tables its value "1" under admin cpaccess for the Admin. Is this setting OK, or it must be "0"?

well I cant reinstall the application for you. We have install service if you need it installed correctly.
You can yourself run through install.php and install if you want to give it a go.

you want your admin usergroup cpaccess to be 1
Don't worry if you install correctly you wont worry about having to peek in the database. I would suspect some of your issue has been caused by this if you have been changing settings.

Installation complete. Everything working fine. Almost. Something I was going to ask you before - when I hit my Profile on the navbar I get an error. Also, when I hit Member List - nobody is listed even when I hit All. Its showing member count from my SMF forum right, also Login is successful, no cookie issues this time... What could be then wrong with "My Profile" and "Member List" tabs? Thanks for your patience with me through the forums here...
PS: I'll gladly send admin login via Contact us - if this would help.

memberslist is not going to show anyone until you upload an ad or someone uploads an ad its a list by membername of ad posters.
As far as any my profile avatar error I would need to see it.

As described in the mail - it's admin access. The error appears when you hit My Profile from the navbar or when you hit any ad /there are 3 test ads currently/. Error message: Quote:
Script:
Query: SELECT value FROM smf_settings WHERE variable='custom_avatar_url'
Result: Table 'kupuvaln_p.smf_settings' doesn't exist
Database handle: Resource id #5
| So, nobody would access anybody's profile or any ad. I think PPC is looking for member's avatar in the wrong database. There is a table smf_settings but its not in that kupuvaln_p (PPC database), its in kupuvaln_smf1 (SMF forum's database)... Is that causing the error?
Plus, I couldn't find a variable 'custom_avatar_url' in the table smf_settings...

Yes line 305 of that smf2.php integration file in your classifieds forums subdirectory change it to read this Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

OK, are you sure I have to edit smf2.php /not smf.php/, as I'm using SMF 1.1.11? Thanks.

Later...
I changed that line 305 in smf2.php, even did it for smf.php (it's line 304 there), but still no change. The same error text: Table 'kupuvaln_p.smf_settings' doesn't exist... Confused.

If your using smf 1 series then yes the file is smf.php
If you truly have changed that line then you should not get the same error. That is unless you have mistakenly installed the application incorrectly. For instance when you install you are asked the user database information did you properly put your smf database information there or did you by mistake put the same database information as your photopost database in there?

Well, the error disappeared, but only because I disabled avatars in profile. This is what now my smf.php reads:
list( $avatarurl ) = ppmysql_query_onerow("SELECT value FROM {$Globals['dprefix']}settings WHERE variable='custom_avatar_url'", $db_link);
$avcheck = substr($uavatar, 0, 4);
So, yes I changed it...
But I can still not see an ad and I still get the same error when I click any ad!
I'm looking at my settings in Edit Integration: This prefix is for PPC database, right? You can check it with the admin login I sent out to you. Let me know if you would like to have a look at my database too. Right now I can still not use PPC as it would never show an ad!!!
I found this in the table cp_settings: Quote: |
83 setting83 dprefix smf_
| So, both prefixes are entered correctly during installation...
BTW there is no variable 'custom_avatar_url' in the smf_settings table, even if PPC find that table...
Look, its OK not to show avatars - I already disabled showing avatars. Just want to make it show the ads! Thanks again.

| Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
well I prefer to deal with the actual error.
Maybe try changing the query line above in smf.php to this instead Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
