Best way to customize

Hi,

what is the best way to customize PhotoPost Classifieds? With all due respect, the standard design looks terrible! Although I'm no designer, I have to customize the design to have a good looking and user friendly software.

Terrible 1
Terrible 2

I think I don't have to explain the links. :-) (When adding or editing an ad it's even more terrible.)

When I edit a template or a stylesheet, will it be save for updates? Or will it be overwritten by the next update?

Thank you for any tips to prevent customizing twice after an update.

Greetings from Germany,
Martin

1. Have you tried turning off the sidebar globally in sidebar settings

2. Same thing turn off the sidebar globally

Your version of terrible mainly is from you trying to show too much stuff in such a small width.

Ok, it looks a bit better now - thank you again!

As I have to customize it anyway (because the complete Community gets a new design), I'd like to know, which files to edit to not break the customizations completely with an update.

Thank you!

well I cant really answer that as using the word customizations is a very generic thing.

If your trying to change the look and feel the first place to start that would not be harmed by software upgrades is to edit your vb stylesheet classes as thats where vb and our program get the colors from.

Yes, at the moment it's about the look and feel.

When I've finished customizing the vB4, I'll post again if there are still any questions. Thank you.
