Question How do I use vBulletin built-in editor?

Is there any way to use the built-in default editor provided within vBulletin 4 instead of the editor within Classifieds?

Thanks ..

Regards,
Doug

Understood ...

Is there a reason that the "quick reply" for comments under an advert uses the standard vBulletin editor complete with BBCodes and the advert editor itself does not?

Thanks ...

Regards,
Doug

That is because thats how it was it was coded. Thus far we have not expanded upon adding the vb editor anywhere but comments. we found the tinymce editor which can be used in any integration.

If we were to pay for some custom development to have someone change it to also use the standard vBulletin editor within ad creation and editing, do you think that would be a major effort?

Thanks Chuck ..

Doug

It would definately be a good portion of work indeed as it requires special coding and templates. Not hard but probally costly.

I dont know of anyone but our company sorry. I can easily see this costing a couple hundred as your talking about both coding and templating for the uploadproduct and editproduct scripts as well as a couple new templates.

Hi Chuck ..

Sorry, I didn't realize you guys did custom contract work, besides the primary product and basic fee-for-service implementation charge.

Could you provide me via email an estimate to code and implement the standard vBulletin editor for our site?

Appreciate it....

Regards,
Doug

Doug I can send you an email sure but something like that would take me awhile to do simply from a time frame. I do stuff like that after any other company work and product support is done so that does limit time. I will contact you though.

That would be great Chuck !!!

I'm less concerned about timeliness as I am about the end result working seamlessly and in keeping with what our old (in chronological terms) membership is used to. I'm concerned that they will freak when they have to re-learn a new editor when it took them years to learn vBulletin..

Appreciate your support very much in this matter ...

Regards,
Doug
