How do I get the 'Buy Now' amount to show? 2 Attachment(s) Hi Chuck ... :) Here's two screens of the same ad. One is what the user sees as the ad and the other is the EDIT mode. The ad is a For Sale type, not left justificaition seems fine here. BTW, that new template change didn't work for "Business" (see other thread). My question is... The user has the option to BUY NOW (using PayPal if he wants), but there's nowhere on that public screen does it show him the BUY NOW price, even though it's set in the ad itself (see EDIT screen). Note: I masked out my email address on purpose. ;) Regards, Doug |
Buy it now is enabled by a user they would place there paypal email when they upload the ad and a buy it now price if thats done you see buy it now. The buy it now should only be shown on a for sale ad so I will check that out and let you know. |
Thanks ... will wait for you to check it ... :) As you can see in the example, I entered both the PayPal address (red out for security.. I get enough spam now), plus there's a value for buy now. The option to BUY NOW presents itself to the reader, but it doesn't tell him the value, unless he commits to BUY NOW and then it takes them to a new screen which shows how much it would be? Fortunately, from that screen they can hit the back button and not go to PayPal if the amount is not what they are willing to pay. I just thought it should appear on the main ad screen along with the BUY NOW option? Regards, Doug |
Okay how about in your showproduct template Code: Content visible to verified customers only.Code: Content visible to verified customers only. |
1 Attachment(s) Thanks Chuck ... :) Ok, the "Buy Now" price is now showing in the sale line ... Regards, Doug |
2 Attachment(s) Hi Chuck ... :) Ok, here's another one .... Straightforward sale where the ad creator "Badger" specified PayPal is ok and set a price for the item. I can't see anywhere in the ad when viewed by another user called "Tester" that he can actually buy this item? Where is the place to click or select one wants to buy it and be taken to a PayPal screen? I was actually trying to test the PayPal icon to see where it appears (haven't found that?) and ended up with this dilemma... :D Regards, Doug |
Your buy it now price is 0 from what I see hense it will not show unless you place a buy it now price. |
Ok, let me rephrase the question ... :) I'm a member and I'm viewing the ad shown above and want to buy it... How do I do that? I don't see a "Commit to Buy" or any way of actually buying the item for the $10 asking plus the $1 shipping? Regards, Doug |
Doug If you want a member to buy it now you would have to actually have entered a buy it now price. As noted in your attached image that I explained in my last post you are not entering a buy it now price. It was set to 0.00 hense its not going to display. Lets break down the code logic that determines what displays the buy it now stuff Code: Content visible to verified customers only.1. You must enter your paypal email when you post the ad. 2. You must enter a buy it now price. This is not the price you put on the ad this is a specific buy it now price you fill out as shown on the upload and edit forms. 3. The ad must be current not expired sold etc. 4. You must actually set the switch to YES for allowing buy it now If all those conditions are met them it displays buy it now |
Ahhh... ok... :) So, if a member sees the ad as is and wants to buy it, since there's no value for "buy now", he would use the "Contact Seller" field to say "I'll take it" ... Right? Regards, Doug |
Correct he would need to contact the seller. The seller is the one who determines whether he wants to allow the buy it now. |
2 Attachment(s) Got it .... :) The reason I asked is that we get some complaints sometimes from members saying that they contacted the seller first using "Contact Us" and the seller sold it to someone else. The old vBClassifieds system had a button called "Commit to Buy", which regardless of whether PayPal was being permitted, sent a "canned" email to the seller with essentially a "I'll take it" kind of message and as soon as the email (or PM) had been sent, the "Commit to Buy" button disappeared, replaced by a message saying "Sale in Progress with Badger" .... I'll have to teach our sellers and members to use the "Buy Now" capabilities, which does the same thing, I think ... So, these displays below are correct for what the seller inputted and the buyer sees as an ad? :) Regards, Doug |
Yeah well I dont think alot of users would like actual aspect that but your free to place a suggestion in the suggestions forum. I mean the whole aspect of the contact seller thing is the seller has the option to recieve his bids and sell to whomever etc and when he sells it he marks it as SOLD. Thats a manual sale. I dont think alot of sellers would like to have there ad placed on hold so no one else could contact them maybe with a higher price etc. Now when a user users buy it now to buy an ad the ad is marked sold automatically. |
