Changes to stylesheet do not take effect

I tried changing colors in the darkblue-borders stylesheet through the admin panel editor and saving it, the .css file was writeable, but the colors did not change.

Then I tried editing the color codes into the stylesheet and uploading it by ftp overwriting the existing file, but the changes still do not take effect.

Then I tried taking the code from a green stylesheet and creating a stylesheet with the darkblue-borders name and uploading that, overwriting the existing darkblue-borders stylesheet (just to see if I could get any visible change), still no change.

This should be easy. I emptied my browser cache. Where are classified files cached?

When I switch from one stylesheet to another, the colors do change. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Thank you.

Carol

There is no cache on files.

If you truly edit the stylesheet and the changes are saved to that stylesheet and your using the stylesheet then the changed colors will be shown provided that the changes you make are valid.

I cant really comment without more info as to what changes your trying to make and a site link.

Seems to have been the Compatibility View. Windows 7, IE8. I found out color changes were showing on my old computer. On my new computer, when I change the color code through the acp and go back to the homepage, the color does not change until I click Compatibility View. Hope this will save someone else a lot of time.
