Trouble with Watermarks

After having some initial trouble getting a watermark image up (I didn't realize that the image had to be PNG with GD, because it doesn't say so in the admin, and the error messages flash by so fast I couldn't read what the problem was without doing a screengrab.), I'm having more trouble. It looks like the watermark might be a combo of on-the-fly and permanent? Because when I turn off watermarking, there is still a watermark on the images. But when I turn it on, there is another watermark on top of the old watermark. Do you have any idea how I can get this back to normal with the current watermark file I have referenced in the admin?

Thanks.

You either have to set one or the other set not both. If you have both set your going to apply two watermarks on an image

if you want permanent watermarking turn off on the fly watermarks. If you want on the fly watermarks turn off permanent watermarking.

Ok so on-the-fly watermarking is enabled in "Show Ad Options". And then the image is specified in "Watermark Options". Where on earth is permanent watermarking specified?

These are the only options under watermark options:

Enable watermarking of products with overlay image?
If enabled, position of overlay watermark on images.
Full server path to watermark overlay image.

Thanks. It seems to be working on the main image being displayed, but not on the smaller thumbnail images. Why do you think this is happening?

Your using on the fly watermarks so no images are truly watermarked. The overlay is shown over the big image never thumbnails.
