Enabling users to place ads

I must be missing a basic setting. I have edited user groups and currently have everone set to "0" which should be unlimited. I also configured the categories to allow the various user groups.

As the admin I see the place ad on the navbar and place an ad, but other members are not able to place ads. One of them who is in the mod group says he sees the Place Ad option but can't place an ad, others who aren't in the mod group can't see it at all.

Like I said, I think I am missing somthing basic.

Is there an admin manual for this product?

In edit usergroups in admin you would set which groups can place ads.

If people dont see place an ad link then you have not set there usergroup to be able to place an ad

If you have someone who has a place an ad link but cant I would need to know what they mean by that to be able to assist.

I just noticed that the usergroup in the list says "registered" but the user group name is "Registered Users" Not sure where it got "registered" from? Am I supposed to change that? Does the system use Usergroup ID's at all?

Strangely, there are two administrator user groups on the list as well. One is Administrators which is the name of the usergroup in vB and the other is Administrator which is the title given to members of the group in vB.

well it looks to me like maybe you installed incorrectly and have usergroups in there that should not be.

what integration did you choose?

Because its obvious here the groups you are setting to access are not the real groups.

In a probably unrelated note, when I first log into the classified admin panel there is a message about and update;

Classifieds 3.13 Update!
more info - quick link to Members Area

But it appears the version you installed is 3.21 if you look at the footer of the classifieds. Not sure why it is getting an old message?

Thats just a news script that needs to be updated thats no problem

You have multiple groups which means you installed once one way maybe standalone and then you installed correctly with a forum?

I cant say more without you posting a url so I can see how you have installed it.

You can always go back into your forum usergroup admin and go number by number 1 through whatever and see the name. Go into classifieds admin edit usergroups and rename them accordingly. The usergroups in our app are listed numerically descending. You can then once you have the names correct set the appropriate permissions.
