Few Questions.

Ive had Classifieds for some time now but just started to actively use it.

Where are the my Sold items?

How do I leave the Buyer Feedback. My Buyers are not showing up in the usergroups.

Do the emails notices that go out to buyers have links to leave feedback? If not how and where to add that functionality.

Also I click on Manage Ads in the profile and I get a white page? That cont be right...

One more thing. Stat pal isn't working either. No totals...

Sellers are given a link to give feedback in the email that is sent out that the auction has been won by the following individual etc. Feedback is given within the classifieds profile

I beleive manage ads has been removed as thats actually not suppose to be there. You can edit your profile template and remove this

Now sold ads only appear for the x amount of days you specify. And remember expired sold ads will be automatically deleted from the system after two weeks if the seller does not relist it.

Thanks Chuck but my Sold ads are set to 120 days. As soon as someone hits the buy it now and finalizes payment the ad vanishes. By~By All Gone.. Ca putt.... B=0

If theres more then 1 item in the ad then its Ok and still accessible but Im guessing that once the last one is sold Ill have the same issue.

The only way to find the single item with a buy it now is to look for the listing link in the email.

On the Manage Ad's link Ill edit that thanks.

On leaving feedback for buyer I'm still not following you. And I noticed I could leave feedback for myself. Is that right?

Have you tried the suggestion I made in that post you linked? That was incorporated into the build

well you seem to be editing something incorrectly then so my suggestion would be to download the build and upload the file in question payment_verification.php

Ok Ive done that.

I tried both the new script downloaded today from the members area and the edited version removing "approved=2" with no change.

The sold items just will not show up on any page unless I link to them directly from an email.

Also noticed a glitch in the search.

If I use the search in the main menu bar it works fine but the search below in the navbits returns a blank result for items I know are there. Only works when Ive already searched that text from the advanced search page.

Not to get off the subject but can I make some suggestion. Ive sold over 15,000 items on eBay and theres a few features that should be default in Classifieds.

#1 Users should have an invoice system in the profile (My Ads). Since Paypal is the choice of payment for most users why not use their service to link back important information into the classifieds script. (Im sure theres a way to include this for other payment options).

#2 Items payed or processing IE (sold or pending). There should be a direct link to items that have sold and they should remain visible for a default amount of time unless removed by the seller (90 days seems standard) The current system is fine but could be problematic for new admin setting it to low and loosing the info to quickly. Not all admins have 8 years inline selling experience and may not realize the problem this could cause for his members.

#3 Most online payment have E-check's that hold up to to 2 weeks and it would be nice to have that info right in the invoice. Once a payment clears then a (print shipping link) wold be activated and the transaction completed. Same would be nice in sold items to have a direct link to the payment on the site and not just in the email.

#4 Tracking information linked back to the site. I realize its usually in the payment but again it would be nice to have an online invoice for both seller and buyer to include important information like this.

#5 US customs number. A text field that would update the invoice with the US customs number. Not everyone would use it but for sites with international members like mine could really benefit from it. Especially since customs offices are well known to holding items to collect tariffs/taxes and delay shipping. Having that number could clear up allot of hassles.

#6 A better Feedback system for both buyer and seller. Not all buyers are good so adding the ability to leave feedback for the buyer as well would be nice. Again this would be linked into the online invoice to keep it simple.

Remember making the change is not going to affect old ads its just a fix for new buy items.

So maybe you might want to run a query like this in sql

UPDATE cp_products SET approved=1 WHERE approved=2;

Well I just noticed something else. I'm no longer getting the email from the site with the Item link so once an item sells I have no way to find it on the site.

Paypal uses the item number like this. a74f63cdef8b60907b738c1221ec7fad Why not just use the item number from the sale like this (#254 ) at least then I could use Paypals info to track it back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. As it stands the Classifieds script isnt worth the hassle to try and track down items. Very frustrating.. :(

Sorry Chuck I suck at SQL. How do I do this exactly. I have PHPMyAdmin 2.11.1

Paypal uses its own stuff we have no control over paypal ;)

As far as SQL the query I posted above simply copy that into an sql window after you are viewing your classifieds database in phpmyadmin.

Ok I figured it out and ran the SQL query.

I now can again see my sold items. Thank you sir. B=0

Lastly I realize you have no control over Paypal but you can use its API to pull info into an invoice. See attachment #2 from my OS Commerce installation using Paypal and an invoice. This would be a huge improvement for PP Classifieds. Like I said just my 2 cents. :)

The information from paypal is pulled into an email that the seller gets.

Thats right Paypal does send a notice and most of the info is there so maybe it seems redundant to have it on the site also. :rolleyes:

All I was saying is that its more professional if this information is easily viewable and accessible from the classifieds installation. Its simply a matter of convince for both the buyer and seller to have an easy reference page for the transaction. Im sure Photopost wants the script as user friendly as possible and by implementing a few changes I truly feel it would greatly increase its usability for most members.

That all said its just my opinion and suggestion for your product that's all. :)

Back on topic, is that bar anything or can I simply remove it? Member.php about what line?

And is there a link or code snippet for sold only items by a specific seller? If not can you please consider this for a future release.

I am not talking about paypal. I said we send the seller all the pertinent links and information etc that he should recieve and it has all the information in it not most. ;)

There is no specific sold page because the content of classifieds is only temporary after ads are expired they are deleted in two weeks so there would be nothing to grab.

I posted in my initial reply how to remove the manage ads bar and it is already removed in my 4.0 beta

What about sending the seller that same email the buyer gets.

The only email I get now is the one from Paypal saying theres a completed transaction.

I am not sure what you mean there you get an email with the complete information you need

what else are you looking for in that email? It has the link for feedback the amount quantity and a way to contact the buyer.

The only email I get is the Paypal email. No links to the item, feedback, anything just a link to the Paypal transaction.

I check the spam/junk folders. Not there.

I went back and checked the emails that did have links and those had been forwarded by the buyer. Nothing directly from my site to me the seller.

Thats just strange I have tested that whole routine and get both emails.

Well now we know where we were missing each other. No email from my site at all. How do I go about finding the problem?
