Integration and Login

First of all let me start out by saying I have read this topic http://www.photopost.com/forum/photo...-problems.html

My cookie settings for PP Classifieds are as follows:

/
SMFCookie11
.hunting-washington.com

In SMF 1.1.10 the Cookie is set as
SMFCookie11

Now to the problem....

The systems are not integrated.
Under "Edit Integration" all settings appear to be correct.

Is there a bridging wizard which I can run to reset this?

What happened is that I had to restore my website from a backup and it must have turned something out of whack and caused this problem.

The effect is that users can log into both separate systems (SMF and PP Classifieds) just fine but they are not integrating because they have to log in separately.

Thanks as usual.

thats not a cookie prefix it should be the cookie name to be set correctly there is no cookie prefix for smf its cookie name which is a variable you enter upon install.

but anyway your forum is not set to cookie domain

.hunting-washington.com

so thats where I would start as your cookies are not set the same between the products.

Ok - I have no idea what it is supposed to be set to. So are you implying that with the default setup of SMF and PP Classifieds that I remove that prefix completely and leave that field blank?

I have tried it both below and don't seem to be working.

I don't understand what your response means. Other than you are declaring that setting .hunting-washington.com is not correct. How is it not correct? It is as per documentation. What is "set to cookie domain"?

I have tried it at least three ways and have always logged out of both systems and deleted all my cookies between each attempt. None have worked.

How can I get the cookies between SMF and PP Classifieds the same?

Ok, I think I understand by forum is not set to deliver a domain wide cookie. I peeked at the cookies after login to the forum using Firefox. PP Classifieds creates a different cookie than SMF.

SMF COOKIE IS : SMFCookie11
PP COOKIE WAS: SMFCookie832

I set them both ways:

.hunting-washington.com
hunting-washington.com

Neither worked.

I set the PP Classifieds three different ways for cookie prefix.

<blank>
SMFCookie11
SMF

None worked.

As always - before my tests I deleted all cookies on my browser.

A domain wide cookie that runs on every subdomain etc is

cookie path /
cookie domain .hunting-washington.com

Therefore your cookie domain and path must be this in your forum.

Then in photopost you might actually need to reinstall if you can not get into the admin panel but the SMF COOKIE NAME is something you setup in the install process usually.

here is how photopost should be setup after you set your forum right

cookie path /

cookie prefix BLANK

cookie domain .hunting-washington.com

Your Forum Cookie Name
Only needed for users of SMF, UBBThreads, WowBB and phpBB3 forums

That setting needs to be set EXPLICITLY to what it is in SMF.

The fix was to remove the prepending . on .hunting-washington.com

well if thats what helped you fine but that type of cookie is only valid on that one domain name meaning your forum and classifieds better both be installed on hunting-washington.com not Hunting Washington etc.

If you want cookies to be read over your entire domain name both applications need to create site wide cookies. I know in SMF there is a setting to do local or site wide. You need to use site wide. Local makes then valid only over the forum.
