Japanese/chinese searching function?

I would like to ask if there is anyway to make the search engine work with Japanese. What I meant is that we can search japanese keywords. I am using Japanese encded uft-8.

I do not know enough about japanese to suggest anything there.

I know my mysql tables are set to utf 8.

I know I can type japanese and have it display correct.

I really do not now much but it is said that Japanese is tow byte languages. Japanese display ok on may board but the search function does not work.

yeah well the language will indeed display correct with the proper encoding etc

How is the stuff stored in your database

example post a same japanese description here and then what the actual database has

Maybe try turning off the wysiwyg editor and try placing an ad and search for it

My tables are UTF8 and I entered some japanese here
