How do i install a new one then? I've added a language in add/edit language, thats it

Okay well you added the language thats fine. You then go to your config settings type in the name say italian or whatever.
Your classifieds should then look the same as your default added language is going to have strings copied over in english
simply go to admin and use the edit strings functionality to edit the strings to italian. take note do not change any variable names.

Well no, thats the thing, everytime i try to change the "english" for my created language, wich is "french", it doesnt change, it stays to english

well its going to stay in english until you change your strings. when you create a new language all your doing is cloning the language strings which are english.
Your config says french right?

no, it doesnt.
in admin, when i click "Edit Config" and then i set "Board Language" to "french" (wich is my new language name), click "Save Changes".
It goes back and its still "english"

well is your config file 666 permissions so you can edit it otherwise you would need to edit the config-inc.php file directly

yes it is, config-inc.php is set to 666, even tried to 777
I've changed it directly in the file manually to "french" and it worked.

Theres lots of problems with é à and è. Accents.
I even put a é somewhere and the whole string dissapeared.

well how did you configure your new language utf-8?
Thats what I use as it works for most languages from arabic to russian to most languages?

well our english even uses utf-8
I can enter umlate's without any issues using utf-8

Finally used iso-8859-1 and its working #1... i had errors with utf8 as it was not recongnized

Is it normal that i can't translate the "What is it you are looking for?:" for the "WANTED" ads? The "search" just can't find it! Thank you

Thats because its utf-8 not utf8
Have you checked the actual physical additional language override files under the languages directory?

I have run classifieds in arabic russian etc with utf-8 and see no issues. french I think should be iso-8859-6 or utf-8
