change search menu to match viperalley

I really like how the demo (viperalley) has the search feature. You click Search and it goes directly to the advanced version. No drop down box.

Looking around the forum I ran across a post that mentioned the files involving search are
Search.php .

* menubar.tmpl

* search.tmpl

* search-r

So I am guessing I need to edit one of these but there is where I am lost.

So How do I change the menu search to not be a drop down and just go directly to advanced when clicked? (just like the viperalley site)

I think you might want to disable the dropdown menus in admin if you want regular boxes not dropdowns.

That sounds like the option I am looking for but I searched for drop downs, menu, etc. with Admin - Edit - All Options and I am unable to find this setting. Could you please give me a map on how to find this treasure setting?

You can download the build reupload showproduct.php and phrases.php

Try rerunning phrases.php to see if you get the dhtml dropdown phrase under admin options and see if my editing of showproduct.php helps you

downloading the latest build 7/29/09 and then just uploading to my site phrases.php and then running phrases.php it added the Pop-up Menu option which I set to No and now everything is groovy.

Thanks again Chuck
