How to make the description column wider

In the showproduct page.... how do I make the right column wider than the left. In my opinion this table should be spaced 30/70. Left column (description, shipping terms, etc) 30% and the content 70%.

I have been looking long and hard at showproduct.tpl but cannot find out how to edit this.

You can edit the template and place widths on the first row html if you choose.
