| Just set up no one can post ads
Hello there, I just set up my classified and have one quick question. I have registered two users to practice working with the program. However, neither one has the link to post ads available. Having looked through these forums there was no apparent answer. The usergroups are set up so registered users should be able to post but perhaps I am missing some other options? I did not add any other user groups so there shouldn't be any conflict there. Maybe I have to approve people somehow? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

As admin you set permissions via edit usergroups in admin. As far as what group your user is in and how authentication verification is handled this all depends on how you set the program up and whether its a standalone or forum integrated.

| Thanks for the quick reply
My classified is a standalone one. Under user groups the only things marked no for Registered users are admin access, mod access, and moderate ads. Everything else is marked yes with a limit of 10 ads.
Under the categories themselves the only groups left unchecked are banned users. I have looked at both of the users that I have set up and they both appear to be "registered" according to my admin view.
You mentioned the authentication verification in your reply, where could I find this setting as this is the only one I don't recall coming across.

If you are requiring email verification and you dont verify the account they are put in the unverified group. You can turn off email verification under registration options in admin and edit the users under edit users in admin and change their group to registered. thats why you dont see any upload link. |

| Thanks again still not working though
O.k. for the first two users set up I required an email verification and for both of them and I clicked the email link which resulted in both showing up as being registered. Taking your advice I turned off the email verification to see how that would work and still no joy . Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You must set permissions correctly for the proper groups if you wish to have them be able to post ads.
If they do not have links then it would appear that they are not in a group that has permission to post. if you go to edit users in admin what group does it say one of the problem users is in?

| Thanks again for the quick response
All three of the people I set up are showing up as being in the "registered" group. I just went and gave all of the registered people admin access to see the result and all three of them who showed up as registered were granted all of the admin privileges including the ability to post ads. I am quite befuddled by this result since it would show that they are all in the correct user group. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again.

If you give them the ability to post ads under edit usergroups they have permissions to post ads. Also check that under edit categories you allow them to upload ads in your category permissions.
You also have to have allow uploads in admin options in admin as well.

| Woot thanks!
So it was the admin option to allow uploads that was holding me back Thanks for your time and patience on this one. |
