PayPal return URL

Hi Chuck,

My PayPal return URL seems to want to bring up a blank page. The URL looks like it wants to return but it's just not happening.

Any ideas on how I could fix this?

Thanks

Clancy

what do you mean when your in paypal? The payment template is pretty clear it should do to payment_verification.php.

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
What is on this blank page anything? Basically the information posts back to paypal and if there is no response you should be forwarded or maybe try changing the cancel return to this in payment template

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.

We have verified the payment process and it works as long as they pay via paypal the payment verification script passes the info back to paypal that it sends us and then paypal gives a response.

I'm sorry Chuck,
yes the process of the payment works very well BUT nothing appears in payment_verification.php !!!
Well I propose you log as a test at GD Annonces - Index principal
login : lololo password : 123456
then in subscription list, you take one and then cancel clicking "annuler et retourner sur GD Concept" and you'll see all is white in payment_verification.php
I verified the file, all you told to write is already written !!!!!
it's a big problem for us !
thanks

You cant just call the process by itself.

As I suggested earlier you can change the cancel_return line in the payment template as noted and see.

Hi Chuck,

Thanks for your response. What I meant was all goes through fine (everything works perfectly) but when the payment is complete, the redirect back to the classifieds home page doesn't complete. It just goes to a completely blank page. I changed what you suggested above but I still get the blank page.

if you change the cancel return and they hit cancel return it should go whereever your sending them to so where are you sending them to now after you made the change?

I don't understand? I changed it to what you had... so I assume that would be to the index.php of the classifieds.

I don't really know what cancel return is... I only have a problem after the purchase has gone through... the page it tries to redirect to goes to a blank page instead of redirecting to the classifieds home page.

I don't have a problem with the cancel, that was lmoreau I think.

Hello Chuck,
I've got the same problem than Acacia.
We do what you say but it dosn't work at all. When we hit cancel it returns to a blank page but when we pay, the payment is ok but it return to a blank page too ! I think you didn't try what i wrote ! According to me there's a problem in payment_verification.php
And for the cancel hit, when you put index.php it doens't go to this page too

Your free to post a url here and test login to your site as thats not what we see or anyone else. I would wonder why your forwarding on the server is not working or why if you have edited a template your template is not updating which is why I must see the example. If you alter the correct template and change the cancel return paypal should return you to where you tell them to but thats a paypal issue if its not doing what it should we shall see.

Hi Chuck,

Just thought I'd add... the URL from the other script where the redirect is working is this - Guitar For Beginners & Beyond Forum - Guitar for Beginners and Beyond Lesson Store

The thing that differs is that when you put the first part of the URL in a browser Guitar For Beginners & Beyond Forum - Guitar for Beginners and Beyond Lesson Store - it is the actual page that the user gets redirected to... in the classifieds script the first part of the URL is http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/cl...rification.php - brings up a blank page.

It doesn't seem to matter what I change the payment template to it still wants to go back to http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/cl...rification.php which brings up the blank page.

Thats not a photopost classifieds url in any manner that vb digishop I mean your return url should simply be this for a canceled transaction.

Main Index - Guitar for Beginners and Beyond Classifieds

Also turn off your vb3 integration and see if thats interfering with your forwarding

Ok, I figured out my issue... there are two sets of templates in the classifieds script - I was changing the main one, should have been changing the one in the vb3enhanced folder within the templates folder. Oops.

I changed all these three lines to point to index.php instead of payment_verification.php and all is working perfectly now.

Thanks Chuck.

<input type="hidden" name="return" value="{$Globals['maindir']}/payment_verification.php" />
<input type="hidden" name="cancel_return" value="{$Globals['maindir']}/payment_verification.php" />
<input type="hidden" name="notify_url" value="{$Globals['maindir']}/payment_verification.php" />

Okay have a good day but if you point the return url away from payment_verification your not verifing payments.
