Use standard text box for comments? I am having the same problem that other users have reported with the vBulletin quick reply box being unusable for comments - it used to work fine but is now a single line with no textbox or button. I have seen other threads where it was suggested to turn off plugins, but I have all kinds of plugins on my board and turning them off one by one to see what is causing it is just not viable. Is there any way to have it not use the vBulletin quick reply for comments, or some other way to resolve the quick reply problem? |
You need to find out the hack that is causing the issue. My suggestion is to turn off hacks having to do with the posting interface. |
I understand that - I have not had any luck, which is why I asked if there is any way to have it not use the quick reply box from vbulletin and instead just use a normal textarea. |
not without turning off the vbulletin enhanced integration. You can place a url and test login here if you wish us to comment on the specific install |
Actually, your suggestion about focusing on posting interface plugins helped. This is the plugin that turned out to be the problem: GTQuickreply Smilies Popup GTQuickreply Smilies Popup - vBulletin.org Forum The weird part is that it has been installed in my forums for a long time without any conflict. I guess some change in 3.7 at some point caused it to interfere. Thanks for your help. |
The problem is specifically hacks are written for specific hooks in vbulletin they do not consider using the posting interface over another program so it will mess up the box in say photopost. |
