Can items listed in classifieds create a forum post? Hi I was wondering if it is at all possible for the classifieds to create a post in the forum (vBulletin) when an item is listed? Would be a great way for those who don't check the classifieds directly to see items as they are listed. Thankyou :) |
Yes, Using the RSS Feed Manager in vBuletin you can get it to create a new post in any forum when someone posts an ad. The URL of the feed is: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.Choose the forum you want it to post to. Title template: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.Code: Content visible to verified customers only. |
vBulletin has that functionality built in as noted. We have external RSS Feeds so vb can read those. |
Thankyou for your help! |
Have a good evening |
This question was for my forum, I just need some help setting it up... I think I am doing something wrong. URL: http://www.xxxxx.com.au/forums/class....php?type=rss2 Also copied exactly the text you wrote... could there be another setting stopping it? Error is: RSS Poster Robot Classifieds Unable to open URL or no data returned Help! |
Chuck Im also getting this error.... Still Ive tried both links. Code: Content visible to verified customers only.Code: Content visible to verified customers only.SNC Marketplace Unable to open URL or no data returned The title is set as Code: Content visible to verified customers only.Code: Content visible to verified customers only. |
I believe your title should be this instead: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.Code: Content visible to verified customers only. |
Have you actually visited the vb support site and looked for that error there? any issues your reporting are from the vb code Reeftalk.com I see no issues with the actual classifieds rss script appears quite valid. |
Im running many other RSS feeds and all those work fine. Its just the one from our Classifieds & Gallery that are not working. I read here that it may be a usergroup issue but guests can see the feed. I also tested your feed posted above. That worked minus the photo. All it had was a link to (more....) |
RSS Feeds I use the rss feeds in the forum without fail The point I am making here is any errors your posting are the vb code. Our rss script itself clearly is running fine and is valid rss as you can see and test. |
Thanks anyways.. |
