| View Counter Problem
Hi,
We have found that when viewing a classified listing, that using different browsers varys the view count. If I view it in safari, it increments by +3, if I view it in FF, it varys by +2.. Main Index - Straight Razor Place Classifieds
Is this a known bug?
Thanks
David

I am using your link I do not see any issues.
I open your link in firefox I see 182 views
I open your link in Safari I see 183 views
I open your link in IE I see 184 views
Remember if someone is viewing the photo your viewing and your viewing the same photo multiple times that is multiple views plus other people will also increment the views as well.

I'm pretty sure that I'm the only one looking at that ad at the time. I could be wrong. But the counter increments are very regular. World Of Straight Razor Shaving DVD - Straight Razor Place Classifieds
In FF, I open the page and I see 1534 views. I refresh the page and I see 1537 then 1540, 1543, 1546.
If I go to IE, I get 1549, 1552, 1555, 1558....
So it looks to me like it's incrementing by threes? (Had a user report this, so it's potentially not just me.)
Thanks
David

The code is pretty specific in showproduct.php Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
There is only one query and it increments one view. If someone hits refresh multiple times it is a view.

But if I refresh, should the view increment by 1? Everytime I refresh, it increments by 3?

I thought spider frendly urls was a hack for the vb forum software (which I have not installed) I guess this is something in the classifieds software then - can you enlighten me a bit?

In Global Options in admin turn off spider urls and then test and see if you get this issue still.
