SMF and Classifieds User problems

I have successfully installed Classifieds and bridged it to SMF (I think)

I have worked with many bridges with SMF before so I believe most of my settings are correct

I am thinking there must be some little thing I am missing.

If I login using Classifieds I will login at SMF on its index page but if I click any other link it shows me as logged out.

I can log out of SMF and sometimes it logs me out of Classifieds but sometimes not.

Also my Classifieds stats say I have 16 users, same as forum

but my members list shows no one

Can someone with experience maybe think of something I missed to cause these glithces.

Definately sounds like cookie issues to me

You must ensure your cookies are set correctly on both installs

The problem si that I cannnot find a place to set the cookie path in SMF or the cookie domain and cannot find it on their support forum.

All other settings are correct.

update:

How to change the cookie settings?

I made most of it work by enabling the cookies across subdomains

even though mine is in a directory not subdomain

however, most of ti works, except:

If I log out in Classifieds, it does not log me out of forum (if i log out of forum it DOES log me out of classifieds)

I cannot log in Classifieds, it accepts the username password and tries to redirect back to classifieds but shows me not logged in.

The forum link in the top left of the classifieds admin appended isam to the link so it is mysite.com/forumisam

I am not trying to bump but keep you updated on my troubleshooting

I think I may have resolved it but if I did then there is some error in the setup

1) The last screen for forum integration ask for a path the Forum directory

it defaults to mysites.com/classifieds-script/forum

the path is actually

.../forums

Also on that screen, the word parameter is missing a vowel and I can't find the Edit Integrations link in my Admin

2) If I am logged out and click login on the classifieds backend I get

the following errrors

Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/xxxxxxxx/public_html/marketplace/pp-inc.php on line 3395

Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/marketplace/pp-inc.php on line 3398

Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/xxxxx/public_html/marketplace/forums/smf.php on line 379

Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/axxxxx/public_html/marketplace/forums/smf.php on line 382

3) My users show in my statistics but not in my users list

THANKS!

1. You dont use the last screen thats vbulletin integration not SMF ;)

2. My suggestion to to suggest you make sure you have the application installed correctly as when you install you make sure the user database portion has your smf database info and on the 4th step of install you select SMF as the integration and enter your forum table prefix usually smf_. The errors you note make me thing you have incorrectly entered one of those two things.

3. same thing as number 2

essentially if you wish support please post a url here so we see your classifieds to see what you have.

mnymkr August 4th, 2008 12:49 PM

sorry for not posting the URL but I didn't want anyone to see the errors I listed as it has my server folder info

1) Step 4 reads : leave blank if none or default smf_ is default for SMF so I was doing as the instructions said

2) Step 5 does not say this is only for VB integration until half way down the page

the default path ti gives you for

Server Path to Forum directory: /home/yoursite/public_html/marketplace/forum

however, if you look at the file structure the folder is named forums not forum

I have made the corrections as you indicated.

[url=http://www.bostondiamondexchange.com/marketplace]Boston Diamond Marketplace/url]

and it fixed the template problem

the only other part is that my members list does not show my member from SMF

it shows I have 16 members in my statistics but not the list

*update. I just created a new member since clean installation and my original 16 or not in member list nor the 1 new one i created.

Thanks so much!

members list in classifieds is only going to list members who have ads posted in classifieds not a members list like in your forum. it essentially just breaks down ads by user.

Your classifieds looks fine to me so I assume all your issues are resolved.
