The new subscription feature

I initially thought that the new subscription feature would use PayPal subscriptions (recurring payments) so that once someone subscribed to one of your groups they would keep getting charged until they canceled.

I see that isn't the case, so I'm wondering how it really works.

If a subscription is setup for 30 days or 365 days (no month available?) then what happens at the end of the time period?

If the subscription is over they get bumped back

The subscriptions added took alot of work but it is only an intial offering. Reauthorizing people etc would take alot more work and a dedicated cron task and more work but definately something we plan to look at later.

I have the yearly subscriptions set up and working nicely now it limits usrs to 100 uploads then halts uploads until yearly subscription is paid. I want to be able to offer categories to subscribers that others cannot see in order to give an additional incentive to subscribe. I have been looking through the user admin control panal and the category set up and I see we can assign groups to categories.. so the 50 million dollar question lol. Can I change one of the groups eg REGISTERED_COPPA to SUBSCRIBED users and only allow access to certain categories by subscribed users?

You can add a new group or use some group you already created really doesnt matter but when you create a category you can set which grouups can view upload post etc. Just set permissions as you wish and you can easily do as you wish. I assume you already have a group your using for subscribers.
