View all ads within a sub-category (including those in sub sub-categories) Is it possible to let the user see all ads in a sub-category (including all those in sub sub-categories). For example: sub-category Car for Sale sub sub-category Honda (parent is Car for Sale) sub sub sub-category Civic (parent is Honda) sub sub-category Toyota (parent is Car for Sale) sub sub sub-category Camry (parent is Toyota) In onlyCivic and Camry it is possible to add ads. If the user clicks on Car for Sale is it possible to see the list of all adds under Camry and Civic?? This would make it very easy to navigate and search for the user just from the index tree. |
Not really no. The way it is setup is you show ads based on the category your in. Since different categories use different templates etc it would not be feasible. |
Chuck, Thanks for the answer. You are right, it could not be possible due to the template issue. It would have been nice to implement in case the templates used for all the sub-categories are the same. Do you think this could be added for a future release. Have a tick box in the the admin table somewhere which activates that function and then on the template when creating a new category or sub-category to allow. |
Well effectively what your asking to do is say when someone clicks a parent category that we show all ads from every last subcat below it and I would have to think on that as I am not too sure what our other customers would say about that one. |
Yes, I belief this would be a great benefit but only if someone whould like to show all the ads in the bellow sub-cat. It should be possible to switch this functionality on or off then it would fit for all. I would love this function and would be very greatful if this could be implemented in the future! |
Your free to post suggestions in our suggestions forums but as noted I beleive the template function nixes the idea and there are some more negative aspects to this that I would need to think about as well. |
