Old Fashioned Upload Problem

Chuck... I was hoping to never again darken your doorstep with another dumb question... but, I have one more. Sorry Chuck, this will be IT!

Believe me... I've tried VERY hard to avoid posting this and wasting your time- I've read about 100 solutions...

My problem is that when I try to post an ad, I get the classic "can't move file' error.

Specifically:

Quote:
Unable to move file [/tmp/phpZchTun] [/vservers/holstertrade/htdocs/trade/data/100/5a.jpg]
Like you have said, there are only two ways to get this error:

1) PHP safemode is on.

I checked on HostMySite.com, and it is in fact, OFF. I also verified that it's off in the SHOW PHP INFO option in the PhotoPost control Panel.

2) Permissions are not set to 777 on all of the /data/ and /upload/ directories.

Man... I went though them all about five times, but they are ALL 777 except for the index HTML files.

Is it possible that HostMySite does something weird to permissions within these directories?

Also, my "Bulk Uploads" path is: /vservers/holstertrade/htdocs/trade/uploads

Does this need to be a URL?

THANKS Chuck, and SORRY to bother you, friend.

Pat

Is the 100 directory under data set to 777?

That error would suggest your data directory is not set to 777 permissions recursively meaning every last directory underneath data at every level

Yeah, that's the weird thing. I haven't checked ALL of the folders under data, but I have checked /100/, and I randomly picked some here and there, and they are all '777'.

Thanks Chuck! I've been working with HostMySite, and they have confirmed that safe-mode is off.

They are now verifying permissions.. hopefully they dig up something!
