Lots of problems with commenting system

Im getting a few complaints from different sellers that they get an email notice that theres a comment on their item, but they check and theres no comment there.
When I used my messageboard before they would get comments, but now with Photopost Classifieds they dont get any.

Also I checked my queue and there are a ton of spam comments.
Is there any way to check all of this?

If they get a comment notice on an ad then they indeed do have a comment and its probally your spam comment

Just a couple notes here, If you have approval set to on then you need to approve anything before it shows in the system

If your allowing guests to post comments on ads you open yourself up to allow spam comments so really not much I can comment on there.

Try setting permissions so guests can not do anything and have to be registered.

This is the same problem I'm having. Even though guests can't comment, the form is visible, when a guest uses the form, the comment looks like it's accepted, the advertiser gets a notice that starts out

" has posted a comment about the following ad:"

with no username and a link to the ad, of course there is no comment there.

This has been happening all along, and it's still happening and reproducible with the 3.03 code.

well what kind of integration do you have etc. No one is going to be able to post a comment if you dont give them permissions so somewhere they are getting permission. Also any comment made an admin can view under moderate comments in admin you will see the comments and can approve or delete them.

It's just not working that way with the Postnuke Integration, and when these blank notices go out, there is no comment under moderate comments.

I just commented here because the problem was exactly what my users experience, and wanted to confirm the problem wasn't unique.

If you have sent an email on this we did get back with you and respond and are awaiting a response from you. I beleive we asked if you had in your classifieds table the 100 usergroup entry for guests.
