| Private Message Intergration with vBulletin?
I run a vBulletin forum and also have PP_Classifieds and PP_Pro.
Although the integration of the vBulletin database member and login info is superb, I have three places on my site where people can send Private Messages and also three separate profile pages.
My main problem is that people simply don't want to go to two (or three) places to retrieve Personal Messages on my site, so is it possible to integrate the PP_Classifieds 'Send A Message' option so it uses the vBulletin Personal Message facility and thus remove the need for PP_Classifieds to have one as well?
Many thanks. |

No that is not possible. If you do not wish to use the photopost messaging system just turn it off in global options in admin.

Turning it off is an option however I'm unsure if this also turns off any automated 'sendnotice.php' email notifications.
Turning the Message System off also leaves access to the user's Classified Profile information, which although good for Classifieds Sales 'Feedback' has gotten a number of my users confused, because as well has having three Private Message Systems on my site I also have three Profile/biography pages because I'm using pp_Classifieds and pp_Pro on top of vBulletin.
The pp_Classifieds I need to retain as vB has no in-house alternative at present, but my pp_pro (Gallery) will probably get replaced with vB's own solution if I can't redirect the pp_Pro PM's and mask the Profile pages.
Kind regards
Ron

| vB does not have a gallery system but just a note our products are all full products just like vbulletin with their own feature sets which is alot of the confusion when people think we need to use vb stuff. They both have their own profiles which correspond to each product.

If you edit all the links for messages and use the vb message system sure as konstantinos points out.

Hello, did anyone figure out how to put SMF forum pm-system into show product page? Basically, what I need is, I guess just to edit a single line somewhere in the code, so when a user click on "Contact Seller" on the show product page - to be forwarded to the SMF page for sending pm to that seller/user. Using SMF 1.1.11, thanks!

OK, I almost figured it out... I just want to change the link that is generated for "Contact Seller" on the show product page. So I tried to edit showproduct.php for the line: Quote: |
if ( $iuserid != 0 ) $postreview = "<a href=\"{$Globals['maindir']}/contact.php?contact=$iuserid&productid=$id\">{$pp_phrase['post']}</a>";
| So I need to somehow make the $postreview forward to $userprofile which seems to be used to generate the link for the user's forum profile. The goal: when somebody click "Contact Seller", he will go to the seller's forum profile and will then send a PM. This is what the members of my site want, but I can't get it to work yet...

I beleive I responded in your other post. You do not want to do what your talking about above. You want to properly sent the person to the forum private message screen for that user you want to PM.
