| Buy Ad Immediately - Not Working?
I've just installed version 3.0 and discovered that although 'Registered Users' can create an Ad with the 'Allow Users to Buy your Ad via Paypal Immediately?' option set to Yes, when the Ad is submitted the 'Buy It Now' button fails to appear.
Admin users can create 'Buy It Now' Ads with no problems.. any ideas?
Many thanks
Ron

I've just found that if a 'Registered User' sets the 'Quantity of Ads' to great than '1' the 'Buy It Now' button appears, but if it's left to the default setting of '1' no 'Buy It Now' button appears, even if the 'Allow Users to Buy your Ad via Paypal Immediately?' option set to Yes. |

Your talking about the buy quantity button not the buy it now link. The buy it now link appears with the rest of the buttons.
I had another user who was confused about this as well cause he was looking at the quantity buy it now button not the regular buy it now link.

You're right Chuck...... I didn't realize!
The new quantity 'Buy It Now' button is FANTASTIC.... central page and catches the eye straight away, however the 'Buy It Now' link/image that appears in the same place as all the other 'user options' is far too small for anybody to notice and is pretty useless in my view, sorry to criticize your very hard work.
In version 2.6 I manually edited the 'Buy It Now' link because I used to have a constant flow of emails from people asking me how to buy items via PayPal so I had to keep telling them were the link was, which was a pain. So it looks like I'll have to edit the image and introduce a much larger one again.
Personally in future releases of PP_Classifieds I'd like to see the 'Buy It Now' link in the same place as the current quantity 'Buy It Now' button.
Many thanks for the help Chuck.
Ron

Yeah no problem. I spent over a week talking with this other guy trying to understand why he did not see the buy it now link and it finally came down to he was looking at something else on my test site so I just changed it to show that on an ad regardless of quantity

Just reading the above again......
Does that mean you've already changed the template design , or are you just directing me towards the quantity 'Buy It Now' button image so I can replace the 'email_go.png'?

Hi Chuck,
Before I go and upload all the ./classifieds/*.php and ./classifieds/templates/*.tmpl files,
can you tell me if there is a global flag I can tick to remove the <option value="9999">{$Globals['pp_lang']['noexpire']}</option>
option from all the 'uploadproduct*.tmpl' files?
I only want users of my Classifieds to have a maximum Ad duration of '90 Days' as the 'No Expiry' option just attracts the Spammers. |

No you would need to remove those from the uploadproduct and editproduct templates.

Just uploaded the .tmpl files and I have this that greats me from an existing Ads?
Something's not quit right here Chuck....
Wish I hadn't started this upgrade yesterday now, I'm too frightened to upload all the .php files now, which ones have actually changed in the last 24hrs besides uploadproduct.php?

- There's a problem if your Ad just has a quantity of '1', for Ads with a 'Buy It Now' quantity of >1 it's fine. Where 'Quantity' is set to one you still need a table header that reads 'Quantity', I think that would sort it.
- The middle attachment has suffers from the same problem, as all the values have shifted because of the lack of 'Quantity' header:
- - - - - 'Date Posted' as 17 and the date appears with no heading.
- - - - - 'Buy It Now' price equals '1'
- - - - - Under 'Views' it says 'Best Offer'.
I'd say it doesn't look as intended from where I'm sitting.

I agree that yours looks fine Chuck, it's my site I have a problem with (see attachment below). Can you tell me what .tmpl generates this section and I'll try another update of it.

Ah I see the issue the vb3enhanced template still has the conditional Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
it should be Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

In the ./templates/vb3enhanced/showproduct.tmpl, I've just cut all the code you've listed above in the top frame and replaced with the code you've shown in the bottom frame uploaded the file and all appears to be working fine now. Are there any other files I need to edit Chuck?
Thanks for the help, I was panicking as tomorrow/Monday is always my sites busiest day of the week and I need more activity in the Classifieds.
Thanks again! |
