How to add a header.

I am still in the process of setting up my site. It is running on its own without any forum integration.

I figured out which template to edit to add the header but now I want to add an image just above the part that says:

Powered by: PhotoPost Classifieds PHP
Copyright 2006 All Enthusiast, Inc.

I tried ediiting the footer.htm and set the path in the global options but that didn't do anything. Anyone know what to edit to add the image?
Thanks

If you correctly link the footer.htm to load and place the proper path to an image in an img tag the image will display. You can link a url here for us to suggest what your doing wrong there.

Here is the path that I placed in the Global Options under: Full path to the Footer include file
To include an HTML file as the footer, enter the full path.

http://www.world-wideclassifieds.com/footer.htm

The code that I placed into the footer.htm to load the image file, is as follows:

<table width="100%" border="0">
<tr>
<td align="center" valign="top"><img src="images/footer.gif" alt="footer" width="980" height="40" /></td>
</tr>
</table>

I uploaded the image, footer.gif, to the image folder.

Thanks

Thats a url not a server path.

You need to use the server path and I cant tell you what yours is but something like this

/var/www/html/footer.htm

Ok, when it said full path I thought it meant the url to the footer.htm file.

I changed it to the full server path and it is inserting something but there are two problems.

1) It is inserting the image below the "Powered By Photopost Classified" and I would like to have it above that.

2) It is displaying an image but not the image that I have placed in my footer.htm file.

It is displaying a reddish-brown box, (table border?), with PhotoPost Classifieds 1.0 displayed in the center.

take a look at: http://www.world-wideclassifieds.com and you'll see what I mean.

Is the footer.htm in the root the right file to be editing?

If I could find the file that displays the "Powered By Photopost Classifieds PHP" Copyright 2006 All Enthusiast, Inc. I could insert the image there just above that.

Thanks.

1. You can not insert a footer above the program copyright. Any footer would appear below our copyright. The copyright is not able to be edited in any manner.

You can try replacing the printfooter function in pp-inc.php with this one

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
2. Looks to me like your loading the header file as your footer not the footer file as that code is from the header.htm

Thanks Chuck, that worked great!
And yes, you are right. I noticed after my previous post that I had the header.htm in the path rather than the footer.htm.
Everything seem to work ok now.

I really appreciate your time and especially your patience.

Thank you.
