how can we keep members in the "awaiting email confirmation" usergroup from getting ad updates

Vbulletin stops sending emal when the member is in the "awaiting email confirmation" usergroup but the classifieds keep sending - we moved a number of members with invalid emal addresses to the "awaiting email confirmation" usergroup and Classifieds keeps sending or trying to send them email

Any way to stop this ? 3000 + users

No sorry there is not. We set permissions based on a users usergroup and there is no switch to not send email to one group and to send it to others. Nice options though to suggest for future updates.

So if a person is in the banned usergroup they also get email updates ?

well yes and no. Do you allow these people to view these cats so they can subscribe to them? See what I am getting at. You can set a group so they can do nothing then they cant subscribe to get updates.

yes but typically members are banned AFTER they have participated - in other words last week they subscribed to a category -this week they get banned - next week they continue to get emails - which most people would consider that bad - we wouldnt want banned members to continue to get updates ...

In VB once a member is banned they have NO rights NO function - Apparently the PP apps keep sending emails to banned members ...

Because Photopost is a separate application we do not follow vbulletin administration usergroup settings. Thats for their email system.

this just means, in my opinion, that is not as tightly integrated as advertised or as I believed

In other words the usergroups that are imported from VB are simply names. The values and attributes that they ave in VB have NO bearing on PP at all - If its not an option in the PP usergroup settings PP doesnt see it

Hello please explain where we advertise that type of integration? I thought we are pretty clear we integrate with the user login stylesheet and header footers of vb. Otherwise we are a separate application with our own permissins and our own email system.

Hoping to bring this thread back toward satisfying a need in a future version...

We need to find out who's email subscribing to which categories and/or ads with a built in administrative report. Then, with this information in view, the admin should be able to unsubscribe certain users who have been banned or otherwise uninvited from using our automated mailing system.
