| Ads Sold Ended...What happends
Hi again...
When an ad is sold or expires, what happens to the ad?
What I mean is, is it removed from the system all together or it is put somewhere it can be seen?
The SOLD ones are more important than the expired ones for if they are removed, their is no record of what was in the ad or what have you. This could be needed for investigation reasons on sales gone bad. Stored items about the seller and the buyer if they use by it now or an auction should included the IP used as well as the PayPal trasaction ID. (If not already stored...but I do not think it is.)
Anyway, what happens to the sold items?
Thanks again.

Ads that expire delete etc should stay in your expired que etc in admin approve ads. In the latest release there is a bunch of code that will expire ads older than 2 weeks that are expired. Kind of like a clean up check to ensure the admin is doing their job.

Hi Chuck...
The SOLD ads, ones marked as SOLD, do they stay around in the EXPIRED QUEUE until the admin chooses to remove them?
Thanks

But unless I am mistaken, the software that runs via cron checks the expire date and thus set the status to "2" regardless if it is marked as sold or not. At least I could not find a check for the sold status.

ah yes the cron script very true so eventually yes they are removed but not when a user marks it sold only when eventually it is time to expire.

Ok, put on your list an option to have all the ads be able to be archived. They should be further broken down to ads marked as SOLD archive and ones that just EXPIRED.
Very much needed as mentioned in case of issues. A history is very much needed and as of now, their not be any.

The whole aspect of a classifieds is temporary. Ads are deleted when they are expired or sold.
