Index Options - Moderators?

There is an option on the Index Options config page;

Display Moderators as part of the category description?
Set this to YES if you want the moderators listed on the index page under a cateogry

The option is a Yes/No option

What exactly is this?

I found where to set the moderator for the category, but what does that actually do?

Does it give that moderator access to a control panel for moderation somewhere?

It gives the moderator access to the approval panel to approve ads they have permission to approve and also when viewing ads it gives them certain moderator functions

Using the switch on admin just lists their names next to the cat description saying moderators and lists names so people know
