Auctions vs. Non-Auction Categories

How do my users determine whether a category allows auctions or not?

If they try to place an ad in a category that does not allow auctions they still see the reserve price field, and if they fill it in nothing seems to happen with that number. So how are they to tell the difference?

Whether the category allows auctions or not, the appearance of the upload form seems to be the same. Nothing seems to be determining to the user whether a category allows auctions, am I missing something?

when a user places an ad they check the checkbox to allow bidding or not when they upload and if they check this then it is an auction

The presence of the checkbox on the upload page to allow bidding or not is proof the category allows auctions

Thanks Chuck, I am an idiot on that one, I looked and looked and it wasnt until I read this message and looked yet once more did I even see this check box. Apologies for such a stupid question

There will be under Admin => Edit Categories a block like this when editing or adding a category and you would set the switch to allow bidding on an item.

Note: When you have payments enabled, setting a value to 0 means there is no cost. You must enable payments in the Admin Options for these setting to take effect.

Once up set the option to yes your users will be allowed when they select that category on uploading an ad to select whether or not they want bidding on their item and if they select yes it is an auction and they select no it is an ad.
