Bumping Ads? Hi, If a members post is on Page 4 of a forum, a comment will bump that back to Page 1, top of the list. Is there a way to do that with Classifieds, whereby if a member makes a comment it bumps that ad back to the top of Page 1? |
No that is not possible unless say the sort possible is most active which would bump it further up the list. |
Thanks for the info Chuck :) So sorting by most active.... and most active = most replies....... thats just what I need. :) |
No problem enjoy |
How do you make a comment bump the ad to the top of the forum's recent (or new) posts? I need to make the ads behave like threads. |
Have you set your category default sort in the category editor in admin to most active |

There's most recent, most views, most popular, etc. It's set to the default of most recent. Making the ads work like threads that show up under new posts when a comment is posted would be awesome. |
Yeah well set your sort to MOST ACTIVE in edit categories in admin. I think that will sort ads the way you want. |
I've searched carefully and don't see anything that says "most active" anywhere in the photopost classifieds admincp (including within the edit catagories area). I looked in all of the drop down menus and the only options I have that mention the word "most" are most recent, most views, most popular. By most active do you mean most popular? Thanks for all of your help Chuck. |
Your right this is classifieds commenting is not a vital function. |
Is there a solution for ads showing up under new posts when comments are posted in them? |
Your free to ask how to modify code in THE MOD CORNER which is outside product support. I beleive my initial first post in this thread informed you there is no function inside our program that is going to make it bump or sort like a forum. In other products we have there is a most active sort which sorts a lastpost column but this is classifieds and commenting is included but no where near a key feature since the default code of a classifieds is TEMPORARY CONTENT which is all ads are. They expire and the system deletes them. |
