| Featured ads
I have searched the forums and I have not found any info on this so I apologize in advance if this has been addressed but....
What does a user get when he buys (or selects) his ad to be featured? (besides the ad being a different color in the ad list)
The ad doesn't appear to "stick" at the top of the list (like featured ads in eBay), nor can I seem to figure out how to make it show up in a "PAL". So what is the advantage to featured ad? Also......
Can someone tell me how to change the color that the featured ad is displayed in the list of ads? I would like to make it a bright yellow to grab attention to featured ads.
Thank you in advance for your time!

There is no sticky
The member only has 3 options to purchase additonal when doing an ad, They are highlight bold and italic and all 3 work
If you want to change the highlight color you can change in the pp-inc.php for class yellow. You do a search you will find that. If your using vb3 integration you need to add a new class called yellow to your vb3 stylesheet and set the color

But I would like to give them more for their featured ad payment i.e., add a PAL side block or add a featured ad to the vbadvanced homepage which I am trying to do but I am getting an error. How do I make a featured ad side block PAL? Quote: |

| Thanks, I will look into that. I wish there were an easier way (like a color selector in the admin) or a manual that explained all this so I wouldn't have to bug you. |

Remember yes you may have created a database user etc but where permissions ever assigned correctly for that user to that database there can be tons of error points as to why your info did not work but yes in the end it comes down to something about the info was incorrect.
Nothing is ever a bother my friend we are here to assist you |

OH well.... for now what I really need the most is the answer to the following question... How do I make a featured ad side block PAL? Quote:

If you want to show a sidebar featured ad you simply turn it on in the sidebar settings in classifieds admin and when you view your classifieds you will see one

I see options to turn on Statistics Bar, Random Ad, Display Most Viewed Ads Pal, Use Whos Online PAL, Display Custom PAL #1, Display Custom PAL #2, Display Custom PAL #3 but I do not see anything about a featured ads block.
Could you humor me and tell me specifically how to "turn it on"? Thanks!

Attached is an image of my sidebar settings.
I still do not see anything regarding displaying featured ads.
Is it possible my software is missing something?

The random ad pal is what I am talking about
Featured photos are two things actually latest random and most views
How about you show us your classifieds do we can see what you have on off etc and lets go from there

OK, I activated my random ads block as you can see here... http://www.bigwestracing.com/classifieds/
But I really don't want to display random ads I want to display ads that people have paid extra to be considered "highlighted" (I thought that meant featured).
I think the problem lies with my own understanding. I was thinking that "highlighted" ads were featured ads (sorta like eBay). But what you are saying is featured ads are simply the various categories.... random, recent and most viewed.
So now that I am starting to see what you are saying is there any way to show "highlighted" ads in a more prominent way? I.e., a block or something else.

Yes there is confusion here. Featured ad blocks are recent most viewed and random
Highlighting is shown as well as bold or italic on the category displays SHOWCAT

So... is there any way to give highlighted ads more prominence? Such as adding them to a block or possibly sticking them to the top of a classifieds category?

Not without you making some sort of code modification as only admins can stick an ad.
