Category Icons?

Is this feature available on the Classifieds?

I've done some searches but all of the results I find are in the regular photopost forums.

You can set an ad as a category avatar just like you can in photopost with a photo

Do you mean that I would use an image that has been uploaded to one of the ads in the category as a category Icon?

Does that mean when that Ad is gone, the icon will disappear?

Yes thats how photopost works as well you tag an image as the cat avatar

You would set a new cat avatar if you delete an ad

I guess I'll have to hard code one in there, as I prefer to have a standard icon for each category.

There is a pretty easy solution for creating "permanent" avatars for the categories with ads that are invisible for the normal user:

1.) Log in as admin
2.) Create a new category "Avatars only" in the admin panel
3.) Remove all other user's rights except for admins
4.) Go to the category you want to create an avatar for
5.) Create a new, non expiring ad and set that as the avatar picture for the category
6.) Now move the ad to the catagory you created in step 2.)

Done. I agree that it would be easier if there was a direct permanent upload but it works just fine this way too.

Great to hear that this helped you. I was only checking back for the support of phpBB3 which seems to be a while until the phpbb group gets it stable enough to allow integration that will continue to work...

Gah...is there any way to keep these ads from showing up to other users...they're all showing up in my Featured Ads and Recent ads blocks.

Do as they state and move them after tagging them to a category only you can view or no can view so they dont appear but only as a cat avatar.
