Index page and admin page stats inconsistence

Hi,
On the index page of our site (stamdalone classifieds) the ststs panel "Views" do not update at the same pace as the admin page one. ie this latter tells 1505 views, and the index shows only 1130 something.
Why is there this inconsistence? Should this post go into the 'bug reports' section of this forum?

Real easy answer there. Stats on index are from active ads not expired or unapproved etc. The admin panel shows all ads

So the admin panel stats show an 'historic' view of views?
And why this 'historic? figure shows up also on the showproduct.php page? Is there a way to let this historical, cumulative view on the index.php also?

Not historic at all everything in the system regardless of what people see

You have expired ads in your system

You can delete them or if running the latest code they will be automatically expired every two weeks if your running your cron script

Well, actually, I would prefer to show the highest possible views count on the index page as possible

I am sure you would but that is not the highest possible its already on the stats. Those are the views of all active ads.
