Promote ads in forum posts Some of our members promote their ads by having a link to "Show all" in their signature. I would like to take this a bit further by automatically place a button (with link to "Show all) in the avatar column of those that have ads. But how can I test this from the forum? (Invision) |
well that all depends on your invisionboard sorry can not be of much help I do not own or use that forum Basically you need to edit whatever template is that postbit and place some html link there and find out what the invision userid is there and use that the link is something like this <a href="http://www.domain.com/classifieds/showcat.php?cat=500&ppuser=SOMEUSERID">User's Ads</a> |
Thanks Chuck. That links is what the users are already using in their signature. My idea was to place a "My ads" button in the avatar column for all users that have ads. In other words, when rendering the topics, I need to test if the user has ads on not. Think this function would be useful for all those that have forum integration. |
With all users who use forum integration I would think that more than oldengine and me are interested in this?? I need to know how to test if a user has ads or not... |
Well then you need to write yourself a modification or hack my friend. I have given you how a link is formed. If your trying to do some vb conditional to show that link then you need to write a query to check that. Your free to discuss code modifications and such which fall outside product support in the mod corner forums. |
Reason I try to ask here is because Jordan asked the same question in the mod forum and didn't get any replies. I'll try at the Invision forum then... |
http://www.photopost.com/forum/showthread.php?t=121154 That may explain why he does not get a reply if your expecting someone from the company to respond. |
