Adding categories directly to database

I searched, but couldn't find in the tutorials/info on how to insert/add a new data i.e extensive list of categories etc. into an existing table (via importing an sql file)?

Do you have any suggestions?

that is because you can not do this. You must add categories via the cat editor in admin
