Deleted Photos

When I tried to "Check for and create missing thumbnails" or "Rebuild all thumbnails" it deleted almost all my thumbnails and preview images. (from view, not from the server)

I get the following error, but the permissions are set to 666 for all the image directories.

Warning: copy(/home/XXX/public_html/pp-classifieds/data/13/thumbs/100_0052.JPG) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/XXX/public_html/pp-classifieds/image-inc.php on line 399
failed!

Or, I get this: "...failed resize (or file is smaller than your thumbnail preset)"

All the images are in the folders, but I can't restore them to the ads.

Here's the latest error message:
"Warning: copy(/home/XXX/public_html/pp-classifieds/data/21/thumbs/) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Is a directory in /home/XXX/public_html/pp-classifieds/image-inc.php on line 288"

I recreated some of the problem "thumbs" folders and that seemed to help, but I still have some problems with the program creating thumbnails.

Your data directory and all of its subdirectories per the installation instructions must be 777 not 666
